BACK

THE GREEN VIPER

It was just after lunch and  I thought I would go outside and putter around.
I pulled a few weeds, pruned back a flowering shrub and then decided to use
my wonderful new yard sale pitch fork from the US to turn over some compost.

I stack our grass trimming around the banana tree to fertilize it.  Two
turns and there it was, a green viper, a handles length away escaping
towards me.  Or was he attacking?  I don't fear snakes but I do have a very,
I think, healthy respect for the poisons ones, which seems to be all we have
around here.  Well I struck out with the business end of the fork and
skewered the bad boy on the very first try, Praise God!  As the serpent
writhed, I could feel him trying to envenom the offending thing.  Two rocks
later and he was on his way to the lake of sulfur.  This must be the umpthy
time I have had a close call here with mambas, vipers, scorpions and other
evil spirits.  And each time God's protection has prevailed by some
 miraculous circumstance.

"The angel of the Lord encamps all around those
who fear Him, and delivers them", Psalm 34:7

If you will put your trust in Jesus, He will save you, fill you with His Holy Spirit and give His angels charge over you, for protection, too!  Just call on His name, as I did 15 years ago in the dark of the night, when I finely reached the end of "me".  Just say JESUS help me!!!
